Our History

I've been where you're at in your journey.

I independently published my first book October 31, 2008 — no, not on Halloween, on Reformation Day! I wanted to ignite faith in my world just like that rascally monk did 500+ years ago.

Since then, I've gone on to publish a lot more books and work with publishing companies and authors to write, edit, publish, and market books to people who need escape and entertainment and empowerment.

So, yeah I totally get the author life!

I’ve been where you’re at — either at the start of a creative journey or stuck in the middle. My personal experience as an author AND an editor working with major publishers will empower you faithfully use your creative gifts to ignite faith in your world.

That's why I launched CROSS + PEN. To take the 15+ years of writing, publishing, and connecting experience I've leveraged for my books and Christian publishers to empower you to do what I've done.

As an author myself I know what it's like to...

I want to leverage my personal experience with writing, editing, and publishing to empower you to do what I’ve done.

After writing and publishing 30+ novels and a dozen resources on my own, plus working with major publishers on dozens of studies, devotionals, and resources, I’ve got my own process perfected — and I’m excited to share it with you by coming alongside you as a guide to empower your own author journey.

When I’m not helping Christian creatives with writing, publishing, and marketing their passion projects, I’m most likely listening to vintage jazz vinyl with a mouthy red in one hand and Stephen King’s latest yarn in the other.

Sometimes you need the right word at the right time or an attaboy (or attagirl!) to keep you going. I’m here with a daily dose of motivation to help you write, publish, and market your book when it seems hopeless, impossible, or pointless. It’s not, and I’m here to lend some advice and encouragement for your writing journey.
