Consider your life worth nothing for the sake of the gospel
“And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me.However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
Acts 20 22–24 (NIV)
There will be a break in the daily video inspiration on Sundays for rest from the daily grind and a short Scripture meditation.
For a decade, this has been my life verse, and my aim. To lie a nothing life, centering around the twin task of finishing the race and completing the task Christ has given me — the gospel-testifying task.
In other words: to live well and work hard, for God’s glory and human flourishing.
Nothing is promised, and mostly what is is actually misunderstanding, persecution, and hardship.
I often think this is the same posture for any Christian who centers their vocational life around gospel mission. Including Christian creatives who wield the pen (or brush) for the sake of the cross.
Create for Christ,
